Hadda brothers (from the left) Willi, Sigmund, Albert i Moritz, November 1916.
Annemarie Wadlow from the archive of Alfred and Lotte Laurence, Dorset, UK
The Hadda brothers pose together for a photo that dates back to their service in the German army during World War I. Already then, their interests and career plans led each of them in different directions. The eldest, Siegmund, became a surgeon and the head of the Jewish hospital in Breslau; Moritz and Albert pursued careers as architects and furniture designers; Willi became a merchant and later the director of a Jewish nursing home.
