“Kosher” and “Sale of milk, butter, and cheese under the supervision of the rabbinate” – these inscriptions in Hebrew and German on the storefront informed Jewish customers about the offerings of Benno Sklarz’s store on Antonienstraße (św. Antoniego Street). The dairy products sold there were kosher, indicating that they were produced and stored in accordance with halakhah orJewish religious law. That meant, for example, that the dairy products never came into contact with meat.
